Coming Home
Letting out a small ‘harrumph’, Jack picked up his coffee again and glared at Yusei. “Not for living in, no.” He lifted the cup to his lips and sipped. “You need to be doing more for yourself than just odd repair jobs.” Yeah, it was pretty easy to figure out what Yusei had been doing. It was just waaay too obvious.“I do more than just that,” Yusei replied before asking a passing waitress for a menu. Ugh, these prices are ridiculous… Oh, right, he was in the middle of explaining something. “I still do a lot of work and maintenance on Fortune.” It actually did pay pretty well, though he did wind up putting a lot of the money back into fixing up the city and Satellite. His reasons for continuing to live where he did, though, were a lot more personal than that.
“And, hey, you lived here for quite some time, and you didn’t complain that much about it.”
Jack frowned at his cup, and a little at Yusei too. “Still working on that machine, huh?” he asked with a shrug of his shoulders. “Fine, I guess that’s better than nothing.” As if Yusei would ever do ‘nothing’, good job Jack.
“I complained plenty!” he retorted hotly. “You just never wanted to get out of here.” He frowned a little harder before finishing up his cup of coffee.
